Jaume Sañé

Born in Taradell (Osona) on 11th September 1961, he went to the University of Barcelona but gave up his studies to devote himself fully to his real passion: animals. Through nature photography and film he has visited nearly 50 countries in all five continents. He has worked in Australia, Indonesia, Tanzania, Canada, Iceland and Brazil, but his speciality is the native wildlife of Catalonia, to which he has devoted most of his life. He has written various books, among them El meu primer llibre d’ocells [My First Bird Book] and Guia dels espais naturals de Catalunya [Guide to the Natural Areas of Catalonia], as well as working as director, writer and cameraman on several hundred documentaries broadcast by television channels all over the world. His last project was directing and recording the animal pictures for the TV3 series Bèsties [Beasts], which earned record audiences for a nature programme in Catalonia and won the Zapping award for best documentary.
